Carolyn Hack
Special Assistant to the President
Carolyn Hack is a project manager who serves as Special Assistant to the President at Croatan Institute, bringing nearly a decade of professional experience leading project teams and managing client relationships in an agency setting and at tech startups. She also manages projects for Viget, a digital agency in downtown Durham, N.C.
Carolyn returned to her career after taking time away to provide full-time care to her young sons, born in 2011 and 2015. During that time, she put her passion for the environment into action by helping to establish the cafeteria composting and recycling program at Club Boulevard Elementary School (a Durham public school) with support from nonprofit Don't Waste Durham. She keeps her spreadsheet skills sharp as treasurer and serves on the Mission Council of her faith community, St. Raphael of Brooklyn Orthodox Church in Fuquay-Varina, N.C.
Carolyn lives with her boys in Chapel Hill, N.C., and enjoys running, spending time with friends and family (especially at local restaurants) and adventure walks to the public library.
